I've got lots of photos like this with distant people walking on the beach, at one stage I'd have wanted an completely deserted beach but now I seek out opportunities like this. Luckily our beaches down here are often all but deserted, especially at this time of the year.
Now the processing, I think I used a texture from each pack in this one.
Sariel Leather @ soft light 100% blurred
Fly Edges 16 @ Multiply 60%
Voyageur Map @ Soft Light 100%
Algae@ Overlay 100%
Tarte Tatin @ Screen 22% masked from the sky
Ming @ Overlay 100% masked from the beach
And it was done!

I love what you did with this! It's so beautiful after your treatment. Yesterday we went to the beach, hoping for just such a scene--one or two people strolling along. But it was a hot day and everybody was there, along with umbrellas, chairs, dogs, kids, kites--you name it!
Superb, and love the way you used a texture from each
and every flypaper pack!
Thanks Colleen -I can just imagine, even in midsummer there wouldn't be many people on this beach.
Thanks Paul, I'm looking forward to seeing some Flypapered UK beaches from you :-)
Jill, how do you know/decide which texture(s) to use?
Jill, I would love to know who you know/decide which texture(s) to use. Is it just trial and error? BTW, this piece is stunning.
Thanks Anne. Yes, it mainly is trial and error with a pinch of intuition and luck :-) In this photo for example I probably tried another 6 or 7 textures (at least) before settling on the ones you see here. I know my flypapers pretty well by now and have an idea of what will work or will give the look I want.
